Marton Golf Club once again returns to Premier A Grade Pennants Competition for 2024!
A tense encounter with
Manawatu Golf Club yesterday across 36 holes saw victory reign on 'The Real MGC' with a 6.5 - 2.5 final score to secure the B Grade Title for 2023!
2 - 1 up at the lunchtime break after the foursomes, Marton needing just 3 points from the afternoon singles to secure the win and end the 7 year spell of second tier golf.
Each and every one of the boys dug in with so much desire to get back to where Marton once stood within the golfing elite and the tide of points slowly began to come in...
With wins to AB, Liam, Nik and Ollie, Jayden unfortunately going down in the solo campaign, along with an epic fight back Half from Captain Shay on the last hole infront of the crowd and clubhouse, tapping in for par a fine touch to finish the MGC campaign for 2023.
Congratulations to the entire squad involved this year, Shay, Ollie, Nik, Jayden, AB, Liam, Ryan and Greg. An outstanding achievement!
