Mens B Grade Pennants Narrow Escape

Our Men's B Grade Pennants Team arrived at Palmerston North Golf Club last weekend with a Grand Final spot comfortably in sight, however one last round against the Belmont Wanganui Golf Club was on the agenda.

As the morning foursomes got underway, it soon became apparent that the Wanganui side had turned up to play..

Being on the back foot at lunchtime, down 2-1, only the combination of Shay and Nik were able to convert and bring home a point.

MGC caddies were inbound for the afternoon with Colin and Tom on the bags for the Pennants boys who needed atleast 4 points to secure that Grand Final.

It was touch and go for long periods of the singles campaigns and fortunately, Aron, Liam along with Jayden came through with the points required.

A loss 5 - 4 but the team snuck in enough to finish second to Manawatu and keep alive the chance at A Grade Competition.
